TIPS ON THE USE OF TUFF GARD 2000 CUSTOM AEROSOL PRODUCTS
Our custom aerosol manufacturing facility is a state of the art facility that produces a quality product suited for many uses in the Siding and Remodeling Industries. We also make custom aerosol products for the Steel Building and Heavy Machinery Industries. AEROSOL PRODUCTS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE A TOUCH UP PAINT PRODUCT. The product is designed to be a "GENERAL USE" product - meaning it is unique to the siding industry by virtue of the many colors we match for the industry. It is a great product for painting extrusions such as light fixtures, electrical boxes and pipes, gable vents, roof vents, decorative ornaments, railings, post and much, much more when installing siding. It is used in many ways in the Steel Building and Heavy Machinery Industries.
Usually no special preparations are needed before use of our aerosol products. Make sure the areas to be painted are clean and dry. This product is excellent for painting vinyl products that are labeled for painting. No special primers are needed when Tuff Gard 2000 Aerosol Paint is used on these vinyl products. This product works really well with the gutter products that need painting such as elbows, end caps, etc.
NOTICE: All standard vinyl siding products require a "BONDER-PRIMER" coat before any paint can be applied directly to the siding surface. Please read all suggestions and precautions listed on any product you use.
NOTICE - IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ:
The color standards, metal and vinyl color chips, that we receive from the siding industry represents the colors we match and stock. A certain variation within the industry standards must be anticipated. We match only one variation of a color, leaving a number of variations of colors with the same name, un-matched. This means, if your product is that of the same variation that we matched, you are in luck and will get a perfect color match. If however, it is of the other variations, the colors may not exactly match. About 99% of the colors we match and stock are close enough in color and gloss match, that there is rarely a problem in this area. Always check a color to make sure it matches to your satisfaction before applying it to an entire job.
TIPS ON THE USE OF TUFF GARD 2000 LATEX PAINT PRODUCTS
!. ENTRANCE OR INTERIOR PRE-PRIMED METAL DOORS: Latex paint products work well in these areas, but only with additional priming. NO latex paint product does the job by itself on these kinds of surfaces. It does not cover well on PRE-PRIMED metal doors. (This includes both exterior and interior grade latex coatings.) You should apply a single coat of ALKYD(Oil Primer). This insures that you have an under coat compatible with latex top coats. Please read all product recommendations for surface preparation before applications of any top coat.
2. VINYL SIDING AND OTHER VINYL PRODUCTS: First check with your material supplier to see if the materials to be painted are of the "PAINTABLE" type. Most general use vinyl siding and accessory materials ARE NOT! To paint a "PAINTABLE" product, just follow the instructions on the paint can. To paint a "NON-PAINTABLE" product, a couple of things need to be done. First, a coat of a "BONDER PRIMER" will take care of the job quite well. Then paint as suggested. Secondly, for smaller areas only, lightly sand areas to be painted. Apply primer coat and top coat as suggested. This should take care of any vinyl paint jobs. Our latex products contain a vinyl component that makes them compatible with vinyl surfaces as long as these instructions are followed.
3. FOR EVE, OVERHANG AND ALL OTHER FLAT SURFACE PAINTING: It is always recommended that surface preparation be in accordance with instructions on paint cans. DO NOT use latex products when the temperature is below 50 degrees.DO NOT use latex products when moisture is present, either surface moisture or high humidity. MAKE SURE that surfaces to be painted are completely dry. Be extremely careful in early morning hours where night dew might dampen the surfaces to be painted. Be careful in late evening painting in areas where humidity comes in quickly and might damage paint before it gets a chance to dry.
